A Brief Background

In Vietnam, the calendar cycle was basically founded on the shifting phases of the moon. Nearly every Vietnamese, from city to countryside dwellers, have a lunar calendar in their respective homes to refer to for festivals and so-called fortunate dates. And because the lunar calendar changes and shifts yearly, the Vietnamese New Year’s day also changes every year.
History has it that by considering Tu Vi, or the Vietnamese horoscope, you’d be able to improve the presence of divine force within and unlock the way to construct a tighter connection with a more sacred path. The Vietnamese horoscope is also believed to have the ability to serve as a portal that creates a link between your existence and the lives of the people who are special in your life — perhaps, even soul-mates.

Western Adaptation

Taking consideration of the European season of equinoxes and solstices, the Asian charts mark the beginning of the seasons similarly, only that every Vietnamese period starts six weeks in advance of its European complement.

Guide And Source of Wisdom

The Vietnamese frequently check which days or weeks are most favorable to them from a lunar calendar, and this, more often, is what helps them make important life choices. According to the Vietnamese horoscope, there is a bad time and a good time to do things, and there are definite days to carry out important business and celebrate key events.
Each year of the zodiac cycle corresponds to a certain kind of luck, and every hour of the day translates to some level of significance — each month of the year, a certain fate, and each day of the week, a certain sign. It is very important to confer with the calendar for when the good events are expected to happen and even before life-changing decisions can be completed. For over four thousand years, this has been the belief and practice of local Vietnamese, and even those who are several generations down.
The Animals Of the Zodiac
Every year is represented by one of the twelve animals of the Vietnamese zodiac: the rat, of course, is the first, then the cow, cat, dragon, tiger, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and, finally, the pig.
Among these animals, one is legendary (the dragon) and the four (tiger, snake, rat, and monkey) are untamed; these are said to have inhibitions in making contact with human beings. The remaining seven are tame.

Zodiac Animal Characters

Every animal, an earthly symbol, is shared with one of the five space signs; hence, a rotation of the nature of life of every sixty years. Those who can attain the golden age of sixty or more are considered to have lived a high-quality life and are intelligent individuals.
Since this all began along time ago, early Vietnamese believe that the time a person was born influences that person’s life and personality. Take a look this example: the time of the rat in a day is stuck between eleven o’clock at night to one o’clock at the crack of dawn — such is the time actual rats are aggressively looking for food.
The hour of the ox is from one o’clock in the morning until 3 am, when oxen are feeding before they are let go into the rice paddies. The hour of the tiger is from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. — when it is identified to conclude its search for food. A two-hour period is, hence, nominated for a certain animal. So we have from 5 to 7 am in the sunrise, the time of the cat; from 7 until 9 a.m., the time of the dragon and this finishes with the hour of the pig, which runs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., the time when most of us sit down, relax and get ready to retire.
History repeats itself in different ways because every time of the year is unique. Sometimes we might encounter the feeling of deja vu, predisposing some of us to depend on the signs entirely. However, we all must remember that life is what we make of it and that we determine the paths we take and, thus, our futures. But there is nothing wrong to consider these Vietnamese horoscopes as reference, especially during life struggles. Who knows? Life is full of surprises.
